Position DetailsFull‑time position scheduled 36 hours per week – 12‑hour shifts, with a weekend rotation and holiday commitment.

Unit Description5 South is a 36‑bed unit that provides care for patients with oncology, hospice, anemia, hematology, comfort care, palliative care, radiation or nuclear treatment, chemotherapy administration (AML, CML, leukemia patients), and sickle cell.
Job OverviewThe Registered Nurse is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe. Responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to other health‑care team members via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and the environment. Assumes a leadership role in providing professional nursing care to patients within Trinity Oakland Hospital. Responsibilities include coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the continuum plan of care in collaboration with other members of the multi‑disciplinary team;
actively supports and participates in Shared Governance; and promotes the organizational commitment to customer service.
- Education:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or equivalent. - Licensure / Certification:
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan. - Important Certifications (depending on unit):
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, Current Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENCP), Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRC). - Minimum two years’ work experience as an RN on a medical/surgical type unit or in an ICU or Critical Care unit.
Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary to deal effectively with various levels of hospital personnel, outside customers, and community groups.
