12‑hour shifts, full‑time equivalent 36 hours per week, including weekends and holidays
The Registered Nurse is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe. Responsibilities include coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the continuum of care, teaching and delegating patient activities to the healthcare team, and applying the nursing process to provide professional care. The RN leads by example, supports shared governance, and promotes organizational commitment to customer service.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and evaluate patient care, using therapeutic self‑interaction with the nursing process.
- Delegate patient activities to health‑care team members.
- Lead professional nursing care within the Trinity Oakland Hospital environment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members on the continuum plan of care.
- Participate in shared governance initiatives.
- Promote excellent customer service and organizational values.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent.
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for RN Care Managers in ER, ICU, CCU, PACU, Cardiac Med/Surg, Labor & Delivery, Endoscopy, Cath Lab, Special Procedures, Radiology, and the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required for RN Care Managers providing in‑patient care at the bedside, including the operating room and the day hospital.
- Current Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENCP) required for RN Care Managers working in the Emergency Room.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required for RN Care Managers in the Ambulatory Surgery Center and PACU.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRC) required for RN Care Managers in NICU and Labor & Delivery.
- Minimum two years’ work experience as an RN on a medical/surgical type unit (for the Med/Surg pool) or two years’ experience as an RN in an ICU or Critical Care unit (for the Critical Care pool).
- Excellent customer service orientation skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities when working with hospital personnel, outside customers, and community groups.
