Job Summary

This position works under the direct supervision of the Nurse Administrator. The Crisis RN Manager p rovides administrative and clinical supervision to all nursing staff and mental health technicians within Crisis Services, located at the Resource and Crisis Center, including a Crisis Residential Unit and a Crisis Stabilization unit. The nursing manager will oversee hiring, training, and performance evaluations, participate in on-call crisis responses, and support quality assurance and interdepartmental collaboration.

The Crisis RN Manager is a liaison to department directors and administration to ensure coordinated and efficient operations of services and departments within Crisis Services and OCHN. The Crisis RN Manager has responsibility for treatment services provided by the nursing department for individuals served. Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to providing administrative management, training and supervision/evaluation of all nursing staff, house supervisors, and unit clerks;

prioritization and delegation of duties; staff scheduling; and performing direct patient care services as required. This working supervisor role must work in cooperation with physician staff and other department managers.

Please Note:

This position includes a rotating on-call responsibility. The Crisis RN Manager will share on-call coverage with the Nurse Administrator on an alternating weekly basis. The rotation consists of one week on call followed by one week off call. During designated on-call weeks, the Crisis RN Manager is expected to be available to address urgent clinical, staffing, and operational matters requiring nursing leadership support.

Participation in the on-call rotation is a required component of this position.

Reporting and Staffing Responsibilities:

The Crisis RN Manager reports directly to the Nurse Administrator and oversees nursing operations and staffing accountability. RN Supervisors are responsible for ensuring unit coverage and implementing established staffing coverage procedures. The Crisis RN Manager serves as the leadership escalation point for unresolved staffing concerns, assists supervisors in coordinating coverage, and ensures appropriate follow-up.

Essential Functions
  • Participates in the recruitment and selection of appropriate skill levels and numbers of nursing service personnel.
  • Provides clinical oversight to all clinical and non-clinical staff on a daily basis.
  • Conduct/arrange adequate training of all full-time and part-time employees in positions to meet effective program needs and to maintain employee competency
  • Responsible for the effective management of the facilities services on a daily basis, including planning, organizing, and directing all functions and assigned activities; establishment of goals and objectives, standards of performance and care; development of clinical policy and procedure; provision of direct clinical services; and evaluation of clinical staff, systems and improvement processes.
  • Provides professional nursing care including assessment, care and treatment of clients at the facility; must adhere to standards of care as defined by the accrediting bodies
