The Certified Licensed Practice Nurse at North Mississippi Health Services plays a vital role in providing a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care, adhering to hospital/departmental policies and procedures. Their responsibilities include patient care, documentation, teaching, and performing IV therapy, ensuring age-appropriate care and maintaining positive relations with patients, families, and medical staff. The LPN must possess problem-solving skills to handle stressful situations and respond to changing patient needs effectively.

• Provides a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care in compliance with hospital/departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintains patient records through daily nursing summaries, Medicare charting, acute care charting, and accurate medication administration records.
• Contributes to the nursing care plan.
• Provides patient/family teaching necessary for continuing care during and after discharge.
• Performs IV therapy in accordance with hospital guidelines.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED. Required. Must meet continuing education requirements as defined.

  Certifications:
  
  LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse (State Licensure); CPR Certification.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  
  Maintains knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care; must complete 24-32 hours of MIS computer training; must organize and prioritize work assignments; delegates assignments appropriately to nursing assistants; assists new employees in their orientation; projects a positive image of the unit to all customers; maintains a good working relationship with medical staff, unit personnel and all ancillary departments; demonstrates effective interpersonal skills.
