Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice, as defined within the state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as facility and corporate policies. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
Essential Functions- Monitor patient health and administer basic care using the nursing process within the LPN/LVN scope of practice to achieve care plan objectives and goals.
- Role model customer‑service expectations and demonstrate a sense of urgency regarding patient safety.
- Collaborate with others to meet patients’ physical, biopsychosocial, developmental, and cultural needs, and address customer complaints when needs are not met.
- Provide basic comfort, implement individualized nursing interventions, and address maintenance of wellness.
- Discuss care with patients, listen to concerns, and report status changes to registered nurses and physicians.
- Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in treatment.
- Ensure safe medication delivery in accordance with policies, procedures, and physician orders.
- Maintain professional nursing standards in line with facility policy, external governing bodies, performance improvement standards, and psychiatric nursing standards.
- Provide thorough, accurate patient symptom, response, and progress documentation.
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
- One or more years of nursing experience in a clinical area similar to the services provided by the facility is preferred.
- Current LPN/LVN license as required by state.
- CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
