Are you an experienced Automation & Controls professional looking to take ownership of automation strategy and technical direction within an FMCG manufacturing business?

We’re looking for an experienced Automation & Controls Lead to take responsibility for the development, reliability and future direction of the business’s automation and controls capability.

You’ll develop and implement the automation roadmap, identify system obsolescence and define the path forward to ensure the business has a robust and future-proof controls infrastructure. You’ll provide technical leadership across automation and controls, working closely with engineering teams, system integrators and external partners.

You’ll bring strong experience across PLC and control systems, ideally with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley, and be comfortable remaining hands-on where required. You’ll provide technical guidance, support troubleshooting and help ensure automation solutions are delivered to a high standard.

A key part of the role will be driving best practice, technical standards and continuous improvement across automation systems, while taking ownership of improvement projects and ensuring they align with the wider automation strategy.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automation & Controls professional looking to move beyond purely reactive engineering and take genuine ownership of the automation roadmap and technical direction of a manufacturing business.

You’ll need strong technical and problem-solving skills, alongside the credibility to influence engineers, site leadership teams and external system integrators.

Experience with in FMCG or another high-volume manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.
