The Welsh Blood Service has an opportunity for a HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist to work within the Red Cell Immunohaematology Laboratory.
Applicants for this post must have completed or be working towards a specialist qualification (either IBMS Specialist Diploma in Transfusion Science & GMP or BBTS Specialist Certificate to practice).
The post holder will work in a team and be responsible for serological investigationameha pdenthospital and antenatal patients throughout Wales.
This role includes the requirement to participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
Main duties of the jobThe role will be in the Red Cell Immunohaemataology department and will involve working as part of a team to ensure the safe management of serological patient testing throughout Wales.
Duties may also encompass management of antenatal patients.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;
English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications- BSc Hons in Biomedical Sciences or other honours degree approved by IBMS for registration with HCPC
- Registered with HCPC
- Evidence of Laboratory based or GMP Experience
- Problem Solving
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team or alone
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written format Computer literate
