Job description

Croesyceiliog is looking for an Teacher of Mathematics to join our dedicated team of professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a strong and experienced faculty in a highly ambitious school which is wholly focused on providing every opportunity for pupils to perform to their very best.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective teaching of Mathematics, ensuring high academic standards, strong pupil progress, and positive outcomes within the area of learning as defined by the Curriculum for Wales 2022. The role involves delivering engaging, high‑quality mathematics lessons and contributing to the wider learning experience across the curriculum.

Within our Mathematics, Numeracy and Digital Technology AoLE team there is a wealth of experience, good practice and commitment which prides itself on striving for excellence and high standards. We have one Leader of Faculty who leads the Mathematics and Numeracy department as well as Digital Technology and a team of ten specialist teachers of mathematics. We believe in collaboration and sharing of ideas to develop professional expertise to enhance the learning experiences of our pupils.

We seek an enthusiastic, innovative and dedicated colleague to make a positive contribution to the Mathematics, Numeracy and Digital Technology Faculty, committed to evidence‑based practice with a firm belief in the mathematical potential of every child. We fully believe that if a pupil can’t do something that is either because they lack the prerequisite knowledge or they haven’t received the right explanation yet.

Our aim at Croesyceiliog is to imbue pupils with our ethos of ‘Learning, Respect and Ambition’ so that all young people can achieve their full potential.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all successful applicants, which will include an Enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Registration with the Education Workforce Council is required for this post.
