Lead Process Engineer - Medical Technology Manufacturing Scale-Up South Wales (remote, with frequent travel to their manufacturing location in South/West Wales) £50-60,000 base salary An innovative medical technology company is entering an exciting new phase, transitioning from product development into manufacturing scale-up. With a groundbreaking product approaching commercialisation and production operations being expanded in South Wales, we are seeking a Lead Process Engineer to play a pivotal role in industrialising manufacturing and shaping the future of production.
This is a rare opportunity to join a growing business at a critical stage, taking ownership of process development, validation and production readiness while influencing how manufacturing evolves as the company scales.
As Lead Process Engineer, you will lead the establishment, optimisation and validation of manufacturing processes required to support product launch and ongoing production growth. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, you will help build robust, efficient and repeatable manufacturing systems capable of supporting commercial-scale production. This role offers significant visibility, autonomy and the opportunity to make a lasting impact within an innovative and purpose-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead manufacturing process setup, optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support production transfer, process validation and manufacturing scale-up activities
- Develop and implement manufacturing procedures, work instructions and best practices
- Improve process capability, repeatability and production efficiency
- Support new product introduction (NPI), sustaining engineering and product lifecycle activities
- Collaborate across engineering, operations and manufacturing functions to ensure successful production growth
- Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and drive practical, hands-on solutions

Home-based flexibility available Significant on-site presence required during manufacturing setup activities in West Wales Initial periods may involve intensive site-based support Travel and accommodation expenses supported
