We’re looking for a Community Services Apprentice to support residents across Torfaen.

Community Services is a diverse area, and you will be involved in assisting a varied team to deliver services to support people to access the services needed to help them address their needs. In addition, there will be opportunities to develop an understanding of the wider service provisions within communities such as support for young people, employment, family support and housing.

The role will involve working with a range of providers to develop innovation and practices aimed at increasing community resilience to transform services to deliver effective early intervention and prevention services.

• Support the delivery of community prevention services across the Council
• Link early intervention and prevention processes to other key service areas such as Housing, Social Care and Education
• Deliver excellent customer care to individuals accessing support
• Update and maintain records on internal systems and databases
• Respond to enquiries via phone and email
• Support the coordination of services and referrals with partner organisations

• A passion for supporting people to take positive steps in their lives
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good ICT skills (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel)
• A positive, reliable, and professional approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Enthusiasm to learn and develop within a supportive environment

• A recognised qualification in employability or business support
• Practical experience working in a supportive, community-focused service
• Valuable skills in customer service, administration and partnership working
