Torfaen Children and Family Services currently have a vacancy in the MASSH (Multi-Agency Support and Safeguarding Hub). Multi-agency working is a significant feature of the Children and Family Services approach to service delivery and you will be joining an innovative team and working in a progressive, committed and learning environment where practitioners are supported and valued.
About the team:
We support children from pre-birth up to 15 years, responding to all new referrals coming into the department and undertaking Care and Support and Child Protection assessments. Our key role is to ensure that children remain with their families where possible and to ensure that children’s needs are being met appropriately and their voices heard. A strengths-based approach is promoted within the team and cases are transferred to long term teams at the point of Initial Care and Support Meeting, Initial Child Protection Conference or Initial Court Hearing.
The team benefit from Family Intervention Workers who provide intensive support to families at the point of crisis to offer assistance alongside assessments being completed.
Team Structure:
- 1 Team Manager
- 3 Assistant Team Managers
- 6 Social Workers
- 4 Community Support Workers
- 7 Family Intervention Workers (Rapid Response Team)
- 1 Referral Team Leader
- 1 Referral Officer
As a Social Worker you will:
- Be working in a supportive team environment with opportunities to develop skills in respect of undertaking assessments and formulating care plans.
- Have access to a supportive management infrastructure with a wealth of experience who are readily accessible for advice, support and decision making.
- Gain experience of working within a multi-agency setting and with other services / professionals.
- Have access to post-qualifying training and wider training courses.
- Have access to monthly supervision and peer reflection sessions.
