New Directions Recruitment Agency is currently recruiting Support Workers to work within young persons' supported living services in the Pontypool area.
This is a rewarding opportunity for caring, reliable and experienced Support Workers who are passionate about helping young people develop their independence, build confidence and achieve their goals.
You will provide day-to-day support in a person-centred environment, encouraging young people to develop essential life skills while offering guidance, reassurance and positive encouragement.
Key Responsibilities- Providing person-centred support tailored to each young person's individual needs.
- Supporting with daily routines, independent living skills and household tasks.
- Encouraging education, employment, social activities and positive community engagement.
- Supporting young people with appointments and activities.
- Building positive, professional relationships and acting as a positive role model.
- Following individual support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns or changes in wellbeing.
- Promoting independence, confidence, dignity and choice at all times.
- Minimum of 6 months' relevant Support Worker experience.
- A valid DBS is essential.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Previous experience working with young people is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient and professional approach.
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins where required.
