General Teaching Assistant
Location: Rhondda Cynon Taff
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Elementa is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive secondary school school in Rhondda Cynon Taff for a General Teaching Assistant
. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play an important role in supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will work alongside teachers to provide classroom support, helping to create an engaging, inclusive and positive learning environment. You will support pupils across a range of abilities through whole-class, small group and one-to-one activities, encouraging confidence, independence and a love of learning.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with secondary-aged children in a school or similar setting
- Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
- Is patient, enthusiastic and able to motivate young learners
- Can support pupils with a range of learning needs
- Works well as part of a team while using their own initiative
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Essential Requirements:
- Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), or willing to register before starting
- Enhanced DBS Certificate, or willingness to apply for one
- Right to work in the UK
- Recent experience working in UK schools
- Weekly pay – no waiting for monthly payroll cut-off dates
- PAYE contract – providing the benefits and protections of direct employment
- Training & Support – access to a wide range of free or heavily discounted training, including Safeguarding, Behaviour Management, Team Teach, SEND, Makaton and Thrive
- Dedicated Candidate Manager – regular welfare checks and ongoing support

- Are not currently based in the UK
- Require employer sponsorship for the right to work in the UK
- Do not have recent experience working in UK schools
