Cynon Taf Community Housing Group (CTCHG) is a housing association based and rooted in Rhondda Cynon Taf. We currently look after more than 2,000 homes for single people, couples and families, including four developments specifically for older people and, with specialist partners, two refuges for those fleeing domestic abuse and supported homes for people with learning disabilities. We are also home to two subsidiaries:
Down to Zero, a not-for-profit Community Benefit Society that we established to expand our community-led environmental activities. And Cwm Taf Care & Repair, which helps older homeowners and private renters to live independently in their own homes.

Cynon Taf is a small organisation with big ambition. We have created a brand new post to support our staff and contractors in working safely and efficiently. Our new Health, Safety and Facilities Officer will work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure that our approach to workplace health and safety is robust and that we maintain the highest level of compliance with all legislation.

If you are someone with at least 5 years’ experience in health and safety and hold the NEBOSH General Certificate, we would love to hear from you. Cynon Taf is a small organisation so this role will cover a diverse range of functions across health, safety and facilities management, giving you the opportunity to grow and develop in all areas of work that we undertake.

• Experience in a health & safety or facilities role, ideally within social housing, property management, or a similar environment for a minimum of 5 years.

• Knowledge of H&S legislation including HSAWA, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) RIDDOR, COSHH, and other associated regulations.

• Excellent analytical, reporting, and IT skills (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and housing systems).
• Strong customer focus, communication, and collaboration abilities.

• Valid full driving license and daily access to a vehicle.
• Commitment to organisational values.
• It would also be beneficial for the post holder to have;
• Membership of professional organisation Tech IOSH) or Cert IOSH.
• Fire safety qualifications (e.g., Fire Marshal, Fire Risk Assessment).
• First Aid or willingness to become a First Aider.
• Experience handling contractor management and facilities contracts.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and building compliance requirements.

Working Hours:

35 per week with option to work 2 days from home

Salary: £32,899 per annum
