Are you an experienced and motivated Podiatrist ready to take the next step in your leadership career? We are seeking a dynamic Podiatry Team Leader to provide clinical and operational leadership across the Cwm Taf Morgannwg this key role, you will lead and support a skilled podiatry team, ensuring the safe, effective and high-quality delivery of patient-centred care in line with local service protocols and professional standards.
You will oversee the day-to-day organisation of service delivery, ensuring podiatric interventions are delivered efficiently, competently and consistently.
As Team Leader, you will champion clinical governance, driving audit activity, quality improvement initiatives and compliance with organisational and professional requirements. Working closely with the Clinical Lead for Podiatry Services, you will contribute to the wider management of services, helping to shape strategy, influence service development and support the transformation of community-based care pathways.
You will also play an important role in fostering a culture of learning and innovation, supporting research and development activities, encouraging participation in audit and research, and promoting continuous professional development and academic progression within the team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking leader who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care, developing staff and shaping the future of podiatry services across CTM.Main duties of the job Provide clinical and operational leadership to a locality podiatry team, ensuring the safe, effective, and high-quality delivery of podiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across community settings. Oversee day-to-day service delivery, allocating workload appropriately to maximise efficiency and patient outcomes.
Lead on clinical governance, quality improvement, audit, and risk management, ensuring compliance with professional, organisational, and statutory standards. Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical guidelines, care pathways, and service protocols.
Supervise, support, and appraise staff, promoting continuous professional development, competency achievement, and performance improvement. Facilitate education, training, student supervision, and induction of new staff.
Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead and Deputy Head to contribute to service planning, strategy, and resource management, ensuring alignment with Health Board priorities.
Act as a key communication link within the multidisciplinary team, representing podiatry services and ensuring effective engagement with patients, carers, and partner agencies.
Maintain personal clinical competence as an autonomous HCPC-registered practitioner, undertaking clinical duties as required and ensuring accurate, confidential documentation in line with policy.
