Based in our Pontypridd, this is a business focused role with an understanding of latest technology trends and related threats. It requires the ambition & focus to drive through the transformation required by an evolving institution against a background of increasing competition and a rapidly evolving threat horizon in the Information Security, Data Protection and Records Management domains. The role will act as the process owner of all assurance activities related to the availability, integrity and confidentiality of customer, business partner, employee and business information in compliance with the organisation's information security policies.
The role is accountable for driving the IT security strategy and implementation forward whilst protecting the business from security threats and cyber-hacking. Operational compliance to all main standards and regulations is the responsibility of this position. A key element of the role is working with executive management to determine acceptable levels of risk for the organisation and balancing risk with operational effectiveness.
This is a senior role and will commonly involve directing a team often in a matrix environment and taking a seat on the IT senior Management Team. The scope of responsibility will encompass communications, applications and infrastructure, including the policies and procedures.
The candidate will be required to coordinate with our computing department to ensure a two-way relationship of knowledge.
