Leaving Care Social Worker RCT

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council 6-month contract | Full time | Hybrid working £30.50 PAYE / £38.43 Umbrella per hour

Hoop Social Work is currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join a Leaving Care Team within Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council on an initial 6 month contract.

This is a frontline role working with young people aged 14–18, including care-experienced young people and those approaching leaving care. The role will involve working across a range of complex areas, including CASP, child protection, exploitation and safeguarding.

Previous experience of working with adolescents and/or care leavers would be desirable, although candidates with strong frontline children's social work experience will also be considered.

The team is based across Aberdare and Pontypridd, with hybrid working available. Typically, you can expect to work 2 days in the office and 3 days remotely.

• Working within a busy frontline Leaving Care Team
• Supporting young people aged 14–18
• Working with care-experienced young people and those preparing for adulthood
• Managing a varied caseload, including safeguarding and child protection
• Undertaking work relating to CASP and child exploitation
• Working closely with young people, families and partner agencies
• Contributing to positive outcomes for young people as they move towards greater independence

• A minimum of 6 months' experience working in the UK as a registered Social Worker
• A recognised Social Work qualification
• Current registration with Social Care Wales or Social Work England
• An Enhanced DBS, registered on the Update Service, or be happy to apply for one
• 3 years' reference history
• A full driving licence and access to a car

Due to the nature of this role, we can only consider applications from candidates who hold a recognised Social Work qualification and current professional registration with Social Care Wales or Social Work England .
