The opportunityWe’re hiring a Client Adviser to produce accurate, review-ready company accounts, company and personal tax returns, engage with ad-hoc client queries, and gain early exposure to advisory work. We don’t do VAT, bookkeeping or payroll in-house — we focus on accounting, tax and advisory.)
- Take trial balances through to FRS 105/FRS 102 statutory accounts, including notes and tagged accounts.
- Prepare corporation tax returns with supporting computations.
- Prepare self-assessment returns and related schedules.
- Keep workflows up to date (statuses, due dates, file notes); maintain tidy working papers and reconciliations.
- Handle client information requests and straightforward technical queries.
- Have an involvement in recurring & ad-hoc advisory assignments and sit in on client check-ins to learn the advisory craft.
- Suggest improvements to templates, processes and checklists whenever you spot opportunities.

- Practice experience essential (typically 2–5+ years producing statutory accounts and corporation tax).
- Comfortable with FRS 105/102accounts and tax computations i.e. you know what “review-ready” looks like.
- Clear, professional communicator who wants to understand clients and build relationships with colleagues.
- Naturally tidy: you document assumptions, reconcile properly and leave files easy to review.
- You enjoy start-up energy: proactive, resourceful and keen to shape better ways of working.

- Qualifications:
flexible: QBE, part-qualified or qualified (ACCA/ACA). Capability, attitude and reliability matter most.
- Flexible hours (part-time or full-time) and autonomy.
- Early advisory exposure and direct access to clients.
- Modern tooling/software, minimal admin friction and time to do great work.
- Competitive salary (pro-rated), pension, paid CPD, plus your birthday day off.
- Office-first in modern, shared office space in central Poole (with WFH when the senior team is out), occasional client visits.
