St Mary’s Longfleet, Poole (SML) is a large, vibrant, multi-generational church on the South Coast. We have a strong emphasis on ministry in Word and Spirit, and worship plays a vitally important role in our life together. We are looking to appoint an inspiring Worship Pastor, with strong team building skills, to join the staff team and pursue a commitment to our vision ‘To grow adventurous disciples who take joy in making Jesus known in our communities and beyond’.

• an accomplished singer and musician, with a wide knowledge of contemporary worship.
• able to lead worship with an instrument (normally guitar/keyboard) as well as voice, and work with different instrumentalists and vocalists.
• experienced in leading contemporary charismatic, Holy Spirit-inspired corporate worship, including leading people into an experience of the Holy Spirit.

• lives out their faith with integrity, as we believe that how a person lives outside of ‘worship leading’ is vitally important.
• is passionate about Jesus and fully committed to the vision and values of SML.
• is humble and self-aware, with strong emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills.
• has a mature faith, is growing in the likeness of Jesus, and is open to the renewing work of the Holy Spirit.

• To carry and implement a vision for worship, in alignment with our overall vision, that reflects the core values of SML.
• To create a culture of corporate worship that is Christ-centred and stewards the presence of the Lord well.
• To create a culture which empowers worship leaders and the wider worship team in implementing creative and musical worship at SML.
• To inspire, disciple, equip and lead the worship team at SML, building on current strengths and developing the team into all God has called it to be.
• To empower, pastor and disciple, the current team of worship leaders and equip and release worship leaders.
