This post is key to the continued development and delivery of cancer services to the population of Dorset.
The post holder will contribute to the provision of oncology services for patients with cancer at the Poole and Bournemouth sites of University Hospitals Dorset. The post holder will work with surgical and other oncology colleagues to provide multi-modality treatment.
The post is full or part time working 6-10 Pas per week. Person specification – Education and qualificationsEssential criteria
- Full GMC registration, Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (CCT date must be within 6 months of interview).
- CESR or European Community rights
- FRCR or equivalent
- Advanced Communications training experience and effectiveness
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of adult patients
Desirable criteria
- Ability to demonstrate use of evidence based practice
- Ability to demonstrate evidence of sub‑specialty / specific tumour site training
- Willing and able to help develop oncology services
- Willingness and ability to fulfil all key elements of the job description
- Experience of / ability to supervise and train junior doctors
- Ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual, multi‑professional and team basis with all levels of staff
- Experience of service planning and developments
- Clinical / educational supervisor training
- Good leadership skills
- Enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional and national levels
