We’re looking for an Occupational Health Physician to join our small and friendly Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team. Your role will be responsible for providing support to the in-house Occupational Health and Wellbeing services, including clinical escalations for referrals, health assessments and health surveillance as well as input into the development of RNLI health related policy and guidance. Providing opinion on Ill Health Early Retirement and other compensatory medical schemes within the RNLI.
Engaging with stakeholders across the RNLI, including the Executive Team and various committees as well as professional support and guidance for our Lifeboat Medical Advisors.
- Salary £125,000 pro-rata (Dependent on experience)

As an Occupational Health Physician, you will focus on the following areas:
- Support the internal Occupational Health and Wellbeing team with service delivery and innovation
- Liaise with senior stakeholders within the organisation and work collaboratively and proactively with other functions in relation to Occupational Health
- Provide escalation points for clinical staff
- Represent Occupational Health at both internal and external meetings and attending committees as needed i.e. Medical Advisory Committee
- Ensuring that the service remains evidence based and part of the continuous improvement cycle
- Use OPAS-G2 for clinical notes and report writing
You’ll be passionate about being part of a team providing a high quality, modern and evidence based Occupational Health service across a complex and geographically diverse organisation.
You will be happy to provide regular weekly clinics as well as providing clinical support to the occupational advisers and stakeholder engagement at all levels within the organisation.
To be considered as the Occupational Health Physician, you will need:
- A valid GMC/IMC registration and a licence to practice in the UK/Ireland
- Hold MFOM qualification
- Experience in health surveillance programmes and managing escalations
- Experience working in the emergency services, search and rescue or maritime industry desirable
- An understanding of customer led occupational health service delivery
