Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs?

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive SEN School in Poole from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of pupils aged 5-16 within a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The school supports students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Speech and Language difficulties, social communication needs, and associated learning difficulties. Staff work closely together to create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to thrive both academically and personally.

This role would suit someone who is patient, resilient, adaptable, and genuinely committed to supporting children with additional needs. Whether you come from an education background or have transferable experience from care, support work, coaching, youth work, or mental health settings, we would love to hear from you.

The Role:

• Full time SEN Teaching Assistant position

• Supporting pupils aged 5-16 on both a 1:1 and small group basis

• Assisting students with communication, emotional regulation, and learning activities

• Helping to create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment

• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff

• Opportunity to build long-term relationships with pupils and staff

What the School is Looking For:

• A calm, caring, and proactive individual

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable

• A strong interest in SEN and supporting young people

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to remain positive, patient, and adaptable throughout the school day

Why Apply Through GSL Education?

• Competitive rates of pay from £14.68 - £16.68 per hour

• Experienced consultants with extensive knowledge of the education sector

• Ongoing support and guidance throughout the entire process

• Opportunity to visit the school for a trial day instead of a formal interview, giving you the chance to experience the school environment, meet the team, and showcase your skills naturally

• A dedicated team focused on matching candidates with schools for long-term success and career progression

At GSL Education, we are proud of our reputation for providing exceptional support to both schools and education staff. Our experienced consultants are passionate about helping educators find roles where they can truly thrive.

If you are ready to begin a rewarding new role this September and want to make a lasting impact within an SEN setting, we would love to hear from you.
