We're looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Automotive Assessor to join our high-performing Apprenticeship team and support learners to achieve their full potential in a thriving engineering environment.
About the RoleAs an Automotive Assessor, you'll work with apprentices and employers across the region to deliver high-quality work-based assessment within Engineering/Automotive programmes.
You'll play a key role in supporting learners to successfully complete their apprenticeships by providing structured guidance, monitoring progress, and ensuring all evidence meets awarding body and College standards.
What You'll Be Doing- Conducting workplace assessments using a variety of recognised methods
- Planning and coordinating learning and assessment activities with apprentices and employers
- Supporting learners to achieve their Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs)
- Providing clear, constructive feedback and identifying development needs
Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate learner records - Building strong relationships with employers and workplace mentors
- Ensuring compliance with awarding body standards and College procedures
- Supporting learners with different needs to achieve their goals
- Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing, equality, and inclusion
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) A-C or 9-4
- Level 3 qualification in Engineering or Automotive
- Significant recent industry experience in automotive (min. 5 years)
- Hands-on experience in servicing, diagnostics, and repair
- Strong knowledge of modern automotive systems and fault-finding
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines effectively
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital systems
- A professional, proactive approach with a passion for supporting learners
- Assessor qualification (A1/D32/33) or willingness to work towards
- Experience assessing or mentoring apprentices
- Understanding of apprenticeship standards and EPA processes
- Knowledge of hybrid/electric vehicle technologies

The successful will be required to undertake appropriate safeguarding checks which includes an enhanced DBS check as well as providing proof of the right to work in the UK.
