We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and driven English teacher to join our high-performing, forward-thinking and cohesive department.

English is a thriving and successful subject area, at both GCSE and A-Level. The English team is large yet tight-knit and benefits from co-located, subject-specific laboratories that enable effective collaboration with departmental colleagues. We teach a rigorous academic curriculum with a clear focus on supporting all students achieve positive outcomes. You will work with the Director of English and the wider school team to continually drive attainment and standards across the department and the school as a whole.

Keeping Children Safe in Education

Poole High School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
