We're looking for a Contract Liaison Officer (CLO) to support the delivery of our capital programme across the Wessex region.
This is a hands-on role where you'll spend time out on site, working closely with contractors to make sure work is carried out safely, efficiently and to the standards we expect. You'll help keep projects moving, solve problems as they arise and build strong working relationships with our contract partners.
You’ll be involved in a wide range of projects across both our overhead line network and substations, making this a varied and rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys being out in the field and making a difference.
You will:
- Oversee contractor-delivered maintenance and replacement projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to SSEN standards.
- Inspect and validate completed works, making sure records and claims are accurate and completed correctly.
- Carry out site surveys and produce clear plans, maps and reports to support current and future projects.
- Manage day-to-day site issues, including customer concerns, land access arrangements and material availability.
- Promote a positive safety culture through regular site visits, safety conversations and audits, leading by example at all times.
You have:
- Experience of, or a good understanding of, electricity distribution networks, including overhead lines, substations or related infrastructure projects.
- Someone who enjoys solving problems, taking ownership and challenging the status quo to improve safety and performance.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to work with everyone from site operatives through to managers and senior leaders.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities at the same time.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience recording project information, producing reports and managing snagging or defect lists.
