Mechanical Design Engineer

At Rivencore, you will work across the full mechanical design and development lifecycle. This covers concept design, detailed design, verification and manufacture.

You will work on innovative products for demanding environments. Quality, reliability and ease of use are at the heart of what we do.

This is a hands‑on engineering role. You will be involved across the full product development lifecycle.

You will work from early concepts through to detailed design, verification and manufacture. You will solve real engineering challenges along the way.

As your experience develops, you can take on greater technical responsibility. You will have opportunities to lead technical activities and provide guidance to other engineers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing mechanical designs from concept through to detailed design and manufacture.
• Turning engineering concepts into practical, robust and cost-effective solutions.
• Supporting product and project work to meet mechanical design and development goals.
• Providing technical guidance and support to engineers and other team members.
• Working with other departments on new business opportunities and product development.
• Preparing or obtaining cost estimates to support project pricing and quotations.
• Supporting design verification and ensuring designs meet relevant standards and requirements.
• Producing technical documents and engineering information as needed.
• Managing assigned tasks and reporting on technical progress and resource use.
• Finding ways to improve design processes, efficiency, safety and cost.
• Keeping up to date with mechanical engineering technology, standards and best practice.

Ideally, you'll have:

• A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification, or relevant industry experience.
• Around 3–5 years of relevant mechanical design experience.
• Experience using 3D CAD software. Experience with CREO and Windchill PLM is preferred.
• Working knowledge of PLM/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of standard and specialist materials and manufacturing techniques.
• Experience designing commercial, industrial or ruggedised equipment would be an advantage.
• Experience applying defence standards to design solutions would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering standards, design verification and manufacturing processes.
• C.Eng. or other professional registration is desirable, but not essential.
• The ability to obtain SC Level clearance is preferred.
