Job Description & How to Apply Below

Suitable Life Group (Suitable Life) is an umbrella organization that brings together three distinct businesses:

Suitable Money Advice Ltd - our independent, regulated IFA business

and Suitable Legacy Planning Ltd - our estate and legacy planning business

Our mission is to help individuals relate their money to their life, enabling better decisions and more choices. With a focus on financial life planning and management, Suitable Life helps individuals understand what it takes to achieve and maintain their desired lifestyle while providing ongoing support and guidance.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site (some flexibility) role for a Financial Planner at Suitable Life, based in Poole.

The Financial Planner will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial planning services, including retirement planning and personal financial planning. They will work closely with clients to understand their financial goals and develop customized plans to help them achieve those goals.

These plans will be visualised within Voyant and also be an ongoing written output for the client.

The Financial Planner will also play a key role in managing and protecting clients' financial assets, including money management of client's regulated assets.

However, this role is about more than just managing the regulated side of people's investments - pensions, ISAs, etc. It is a full, holistic, financial life planning role that is interesting whilst challenging. Those looking to just acquire funds under management and talk equity and bond funds to clients need not apply.

Our typical clients are either:

  • Small business owners, more often than not with property investments, and have a different outlook from someone just passively growing a pension pot. They probably already have enough, but either just don't know it yet or don't know any different other than to keep growing and building. Our role is to help them understand when is enough enough and to help them with all of the ongoing life and financial issues that having some wealth entails and ensure they can live their best life with the time they have left whilst fully understanding lifestyle and legacy options.
  • Part or Full time property investors, who have accumulated a property portfolio and now want to understand the future in more detail - do they hold, when (or if) they sell, or do they pass the portfolio to the children. What are all the financial planning thoughts and practical steps required.
  • NHS GP partners or consultants, who have an altruist passion for what they do but find themselves in a very different NHS today than it was when they joined. With a lot of their service due to be in the 2015 NHS pension scheme with a current retirement age of 67, they are wanting to understand how they can make full or semi-retirement a reality at age 58-60 and what they need to do now to ensure they have options to bridge that gap.

Plus, they have all of the other ongoing lifestyle and legacy issues of those with an amount of wealth.

You would need to be open to understanding these types of client.

Full training and support will be given, including in areas such as the NHS pension, Voyant cashflow modelling, the understanding of different client profiles, and why many client's still love property investments.

If you want to make a significant difference to our client's lives, by carrying out 'proper' financial life planning then this is the role for you.

We are looking for someone to grow with, and within our business. For the right individuals, future ownership within our business is a real opportunity.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Financial Planning and Personal Financial Planning skills
  • A desire to further better themselves and take further qualifications such as Level 6 or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification
  • Experience in finance and retirement planning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with complex financial data
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field would be a bonus
  • Experience in the financial services industry is a must

Salary negotiable, based upon experience and the individual.
