Project Accountant

Project Accountant required for a large organisation in Poole. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves digging into data
, improving processes, and working across a busy finance function. You’ll support tax compliance and reporting across a wide range of activities, using your analytical mindset to streamline systems, enhance reporting, and help ensure the organisation stays fully compliant. Perfect for someone with strong data analysis

, and process improvement skills who wants to grow their tax knowledge on the job.

• Analysing tax data across monthly, quarterly and annual returns
• Improving end to end processes to make reporting faster and smarter
• Reviewing tax workflows and helping redesign systems and documentation
• Preparing and optimising returns including VAT, customs, duty, corporation tax, Gift Aid and more
• Collaborating across finance to ensure data, processes and reporting align
• Supporting tax projects and providing analysis for new initiatives

• A logical, organised, detail driven approach
• Strong IT and data analysis skills
• Confidence working with spreadsheets and large datasets
• Experience with tax returns or tax processes (helpful but not essential)
• Ability to explain tax concepts to non-finance colleagues

• Loves problem solving and improving systems
• Enjoys working with people across finance and wider teams
• Wants to learn, grow and build technical tax and data expertise
• Is meticulous, deadline-driven and committed to high quality work

The role is offered on a Fixed term contract basis 12 to 18 months, flexible working is on offer, 2 days in office, 26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, competitive pension scheme (employer contributions of up to 10% of basic salary), life assurance, health cashplan option
