Clinical Pharmacist

The Winterbourne Hospital & The Harbour Hospital are part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department. This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. Part-time hours will be considered. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern with no weekend or on-call working. This is a dual site role with responsibilities split between both The Winterbourne Hospital and The Harbour Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct medication reviews for inpatients and outpatients, identifying interactions, contraindications, and opportunities for medicines optimisation.
  • Provide tailored advice to patients on their treatment plans, including side effects, compliance, and lifestyle considerations.
  • Support safe prescribing through reconciliation, clinical screening, and dose adjustment (e.g., renal or hepatic impairment).
  • Review and authorise prescriptions in line with clinical guidelines, formulary restrictions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safe and cost-effective use of medicines by supporting adherence to local and national policies.
Requirements
  • A master’s degree in pharmacy (MPharm or equivalent).
  • GPhC registration as a Pharmacist.
  • Previous experience in a clinical hospital pharmacy role.
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutics, clinical guidelines, and pharmaceutical legislation.
  • Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident using electronic prescribing and medication administration systems (e.g., EPMA).
