Overview
As the first point of clinical contact, you will offer timely assessments of need, provide advice and signposting, and ensure safe triage to the most appropriate service pathway. You will exercise advanced clinical judgment and decision‑making skills, working collaboratively across health, education and social care systems.
CYPMH Dorset is entering a period of growth, with new investments enabling us to enhance our services. This role will evolve as we develop, beginning with supporting existing teams from a temporary base during the transition. Positions are pan‑Dorset, with future extended operational hours.

Responsibilities- Receive and respond to referrals via the Integrated Front Door.
- Apply evidence‑based clinical judgment to assess needs and formulate care plans.
- Escalate high‑risk cases and ensure robust risk management.
- Provide specialist mental health advice and consultation to professionals.
- Champion integrated working across agencies and contribute to service development.
- Support the clinical development of team members and mentor colleagues.
The ECP must have strong, demonstrable clinical experience of working therapeutically with children and young people with mental health presentations and their families. You should work cohesively with Team Leaders, the Clinical Lead and Service Manager, provide robust clinical leadership, support the team with complex cases, hold a caseload within professional competence, contribute to multi‑agency meetings, provide expert clinical input and promote the role of CAMHS.
