Are you a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse looking for an exhilarating new challenge with the A&E Psychiatric Liaison Team? Based in Poole, UK, this role within Mental Health Nursing offers an attractive hourly rate of £26.00 – £34.00. We’re looking for a candidate to join us on an initial 3-month contract, exclusively working nights. Your shifts will run from 20:00-06:00, three nights a week, either separately or consecutively, across Poole and Bournemouth Hospital sites.

Embark on this thrilling opportunity where you will provide mental health assessments and signposting for patients presenting during the late evening and overnight. You will be an integral part of a team addressing cases involving individuals in suicidal crises or experiencing relapses of severe mental health conditions. You will ensure timely assessment, risk management, and referral to suitable services.

What you will do:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health and risk assessments in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to create and action care plans for individuals in need
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing suicidal ideations or serious mental health conditions
  • Offer specialist advice and guidance to hospital staff regarding mental health care
  • Ensure appropriate onward referral to community mental health teams or other relevant services

Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification
  • Previous experience in Mental Health Liaison, Crisis & Home Treatment, or Initial Triaging
  • Confidence in undertaking comprehensive mental health and risk assessments in acute settings
