With two full-time positions available and a contract duration of six months, this ongoing role requires working long day shifts and night shifts.

What you will do
- Perform specialist Haematology and Blood Transfusion laboratory investigations.
- Validate and report laboratory results with precision and expertise.
- Process urgent and routine samples efficiently to support patient care.
- Participate in the delivery of a 24-hour laboratory service, including night and long day shift rotas.
- Review laboratory quality assurance standards to maintain high-quality service.
- Operate and maintain laboratory analysers and equipment.
- Ensure accurate completion of laboratory records and documentation.
- Support safe and effective Blood Sciences service delivery.
Requirements
- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
- Proficiency in Haematology and Blood Transfusion practices.
- Ability to work independently and undertake lone working at night.
- Experience with in an NHS laboratory and ability to work long day shifts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work as part of a laboratory team. - Previous Band 6 Biomedical Scientist experience.
- Experience with in Essential Services Laboratories.
- Experience supporting out-of-hours services.
- Familiarity with laboratory quality management systems.
