Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Automotive Technician, Automotive Mechanic
We're looking for a skilled and safety conscious Engine Dismantler Technicician to join our team. If you have a passion for automotive components, a keen eye for detail and hands on experience taking apart engines and transmission systems, this could be the perfect role for you.
You'll play a vital part in our salvage operations, carefully extracting and cataloguing valuable components while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility. What You’ll Be Doing- Safely remove and disassemble engines, transmissions, differentials, axles, and driveline assemblies from salvage vehicles
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to extract components without causing damage
- Accurately document each component's details, including vehicle information, condition, and mileage
- Identify and sort salvageable parts for refurbishment or resale
- Organise and store dismantled components systematically for efficient retrieval
- Maintain accurate physical and digital inventory records
- Follow strict safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Dispose of hazardous materials responsibly in line with environmental regulations
- Working on a 3-week rota, 1 week depollution, 2 weeks engine dismantling
- 42.5 hours per week (8am - 5pm Monday to Friday)
- Mechanical qualifications (preferably to level 2 or 3 in vehicle mechanics or similar) and/or equivalent experience
- Solid experience disassembling, inspecting, and sorting powertrain components
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Problem‑solving skills to tackle challenging dismantling scenarios
- Effective time management to meet daily targets
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to adapt to varying vehicle types and inventory demands
- Unwavering commitment to safety protocols and procedures
- Excellent organisational skills for inventory and workspace management
- Understanding of environmental regulations and eco‑friendly practices
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism
