About the role

As Future Estates Lead, you will be the focal point for developing the RNLI’s forward‑looking estates concepts. You will explore, define and trial new approaches that strengthen resilience, sustainability and operational effectiveness across our estate.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead the creation and evolution of future estates concepts and long‑term roadmaps.
  • Identify, evaluate and introduce innovative technologies, materials, digital tools and modern methods of construction.
  • Scan industry and regulatory developments to ensure the RNLI keeps pace with sector innovation.
  • Support early‑stage technical considerations for estates design, standards and capital planning.
  • Ensure all future estates work aligns with safety, regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Engage external specialists, consultants and research partners.
  • Deliver proof‑of‑concept estates projects from concept through to implementation.
  • Drive sustainability within the existing estate through adoption of novel technologies.
  • Analyse lessons learned from capital and maintenance activities to inform future strategy.
  • Collaborate across teams to align priorities, improve processes, and deliver shared goals.
