Works Manager | Poole | Up to £50,000

This is a hands‑on management position in a well-established structural fabrication business, where your ability to drive efficiency and lead people will make a real difference to how the operation runs.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing day‑to‑day yard, processing, and materials handling operations to keep the production plan on track
  • Extracting and manipulating data from StruMIS and Excel to produce accurate performance and cost reports
  • Managing time and attendance records and allocating hours correctly across work activities
  • Logging the cost and time impact of E‑forms, NCRs, variations, and drawing revisions for commercial recovery
  • Supervising the flow of materials into the factory and coordinating sub‑contract suppliers and fabricators
  • Writing and delivering toolbox talks and ensuring H&S documentation is completed and uploaded to Share Point
Qualifications / Experience
  • A background in a production or fabrication environment, ideally from the shop floor
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office, Excel, and ideally StruMIS or similar production management software
  • Experience managing teams and driving efficient workflows against a production plan
  • The ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise across departments
  • IOSH or equivalent Health and Safety qualification (desirable)
