Production Set-Up Team Leader

An opportunity has arisen within a growing manufacturing environment in Poole for a Production Set-Up Team Leader to take ownership of a key stage in the production process, supporting the preparation and assembly of structural bases used in CNC manufacturing operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role, overseeing a small team responsible for building and preparing production bases that feed directly into downstream manufacturing processes.
The role plays an important part in ensuring workflow runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the required standard. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading day‑to‑day activity within the base assembly area, maintaining structure, driving performance, and ensuring all outputs are delivered on time and to specification.
- Lead a small team within the production set‑up / base assembly area
- Allocate daily workloads and ensure priorities are delivered in line with production schedules
- Read and interpret technical drawings and apply practical manufacturing understanding
- Assemble structural bases accurately and to required specification for CNC manufacturing processes
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient working environment
- Monitor quality at each stage of the process and ensure consistent standards are met
- Support on‑time delivery performance across production schedules
- Maintain production documentation and support basic reporting requirements
- Monitor stock usage and highlight material requirements where needed
- Work collaboratively with other production areas to ensure smooth workflow across the business
- Support and enforce health & safety standards at all times
- Previous experience in a hands‑on manufacturing, fabrication, assembly or production environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong leadership capability with experience guiding or supervising small teams
- Practical, hands‑on mindset with strong attention to detail
- Background in manufacturing, composites, carpentry, joinery, or structural assembly advantageous
- Forklift licence desirable but not essential
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to daily production activity
- A stable, full-time position within a growing manufacturing operation
