Job Description & How to Apply Below
Swapping weekend bar shifts and late-night covers for Monday to Friday hours and genuinely interesting work sounds like a good summer to us. If you're studying a STEM subject and you enjoy building, tinkering, or working with your hands, these Summer Work - Assembler positions could be the most rewarding temp work you'll find this summer. You'll be putting real skills to use in a technical environment and getting paid well to do it.
As a Summer Work - Assembler, you will benefit from:
Competitive pay with overtime paid at premium rates
Hands-on experience in a technical, precision-focused environment
Exposure to a range of products, components, and assembly techniques
Monday to Friday hours within core day shifts, keeping your evenings and weekends free
Modern, well-equipped working environment
A genuine opportunity to apply and develop skills from your studies
As a Summer Work - Assembler, your responsibilities will include:
Building and testing bespoke and stock products to defined standards
Assembling a range of components, including circuit boards and cabling, to tight tolerances
Using hand tools and soldering techniques accurately and consistently
Operating test equipment to verify functionality
Following workflow instructions and technical drawings with precision
As a Summer Work - Assembler, your experience will include:
Confidence using hand tools, whether through your studies, a hobby, or previous work
An interest in electronics, engineering, or technology, perhaps from a STEM course or personal project
Practical experience that demonstrates dexterity and attention to detail, for example: PC building, model making, Warhammer, Airfix, or similar
Previous experience in an electrical, mechanical, or production environment is a bonus but not essential
Whether you've spent the last year studying circuits in a lecture theatre or stripping down computers at home, if you can demonstrate you're comfortable working with your hands and following technical instructions, this is worth your time.
