CNC Programmer
Poole
Salary:
Up to £50,000 per annum.
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer & CNC Programmer to join a growing precision engineering business supporting high‑specification aerospace and defence projects.
This is a hands‑on role focused on new product introduction, process optimisation, and the generation of CNC programmes for 3, 4 and 5‑axis machine tools.
CNC Programmer- Key Responsibilities
- Create and prove CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software.
- Develop manufacturing processes, tooling strategies, and production routings.
- Produce setup sheets, tooling plans, and process documentation.
- Support new product introduction and process validation activities.
- Work closely with Quality and Production teams to ensure robust process control.
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, cost reduction projects, and productivity improvements.
- Support root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Requirements
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Proven experience within a precision engineering manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace or defence.
- Strong understanding of machining processes including milling and turning.
- Experience generating CNC programmes for 3, 4 and 5‑axis CNC machine tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with Fusion 360 or similar CAD/CAM software desirable.
- Green Belt and project management experience advantageous.
