Job Title: CNC Miller
Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: £45,000 per year
Employment Type: Full Time
A well‑established precision engineering business in Poole is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join its advanced manufacturing team. This is a highly technical role suited to a skilled machinist with strong offline programming capability, looking to work on complex multi‑axis machining projects.
The RoleAs a CNC Miller, you will take ownership of offline programming and machining support across 3, 4 and 5‑axis CNC equipment, ensuring efficient and reliable production processes.
Responsibilities- Develop offline CNC programmes for multi‑axis machining (3, 4 and 5‑axis).
- Use Edgecam and Fusion 360 for programme creation and optimisation.
- Produce detailed setup documentation, tooling plans and work instructions.
- Support programme proving and smooth transition into production.
- Improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Define tooling strategies, work holding methods and routing requirements.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with production and quality teams.
- Support new product introduction and ongoing process development.
- Proven CNC milling experience with offline programming capability.
- Experience working with 3, 4 and 5‑axis CNC machinery.
- Strong background in CNC machining (milling essential).
- Experience using Edgecam and Fusion 360.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of tooling and machining processes.
- Excellent problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills across technical teams.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles (beneficial).
- Background in precision engineering environments (beneficial).
- Exposure to continuous improvement or manufacturing engineering activities (beneficial).
- £45,000 per year.
