The below job description will outline this position of Aluminium Welder / Fabricator.

Typically, this person will be an experienced Welder / Fabricator with strong aluminium welding experience, capable of working from technical drawings and supporting marine engineering projects within a workshop and site-based environment.

Duties and responsibilities of the Aluminium Welder / Fabricator
  • Carrying out MIG and MMA welding on aluminium and steel components.
  • Fabricating components and structures from technical drawings.
  • Working with aluminium and steel materials to the required specifications.
  • Inspecting completed welds and fabrications to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
  • Carrying out welding and fabrication work safely and efficiently within workshop and site-based environments.
  • Supporting wider marine engineering and fabrication tasks when required.
  • Maintaining a high standard of workmanship across all projects.
Qualifications and requirements for the Aluminium Welder / Fabricator
  • Previous experience working as a Welder / Fabricator.
  • Strong and proven aluminium welding experience.
  • Competent in MIG and MMA welding.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Previous marine, shipbuilding or boatyard experience would be highly beneficial.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
Working Hours & Package
  • £21.00 - £24.00 per hour.
  • 50 hours per week.
  • Initial 4-month contract.
  • Potential for extension due to further projects in the pipeline.
  • Based in Poole, Dorset.
  • Opportunity to work on current marine engineering projects.
  • Immediate requirement for an experienced Welder / Fabricator.
