An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the nurse led Dorset Bowel Cancer Screening Centre. You will join a highly skilled, motivated team delivering Bowel Cancer population screening to Dorset. Dorset residents are offered screening from ages fifty years up until seventy five years, enabling the early detection and treatment of colorectal cancers. Successful candidates will be employed by University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Poole Hospital site.
There will be an expectation that you travel to three other screening sites in Dorset. The successful candidate will provide expert knowledge, high quality care and psychological support to Dorset Bowel Cancer Screening subjects and their families. The successful candidate will support subjects through the screening pathway including:
- Assessing subjects fitness for colonoscopy
- Supporting subjects to make informed choices
- Delivering healthy lifestyle advice
- Reviewing and actioning investigation results including histopathology and delivering investigation results
- Ensuring subjects outcomes are correct
Travel expectations and mileage policy:
If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
