Quality Inspector

Location: Poole, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8.00am - 4.30pm
Friday: 8.00am - 1.30pm

We are recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Poole.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and experience within cable assembly, wiring or electronics manufacturing to join a busy quality team. You'll play a vital role in ensuring products meet the highest quality standards before they are supplied to customers.

The Role

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting cable assemblies and associated components throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring all products comply with company and customer specifications.

Your duties will include:

  • Carrying out first-off, in-process (patrol) and final inspections.
  • Inspecting cable assemblies, connectors, crimps and associated components.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
  • Using inspection equipment including verniers, microscopes and other measuring devices.
  • Identifying, handling and recording non-conforming products and rejects.
  • Reporting quality concerns, defects and production risks to management.
  • Maintaining accurate inspection records and documentation.
  • Working closely with production teams to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.
  • Supporting continuous improvement within the quality function.
The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience within a quality inspection role in a manufacturing or electronics environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Experience using inspection equipment such as verniers, microscopes and measuring instruments.
  • Mechanical knowledge, particularly of connectors and crimping processes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience handling and recording non-conforming products.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or previous training would be advantageous, although not essential.
