Senior Quality Manager Overview:
Lead quality strategy, QMS development and operational quality standards across the business
Own NCR, CAPA, root cause, audit programmes and supplier quality improvement
Drive ISO
9001 compliance while supporting ISO standard readiness
Oversee environmental and Health & Safety management alongside core quality leadership
Work closely with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and senior leadership
This Senior Quality Manager role is based onsite in Poole and reports directly to the Operations Director. The Senior Quality Manager will lead the company’s quality strategy, strengthen operational quality controls and help embed a more accountable, prevention-led quality culture across the business. This Senior Quality Manager position needs someone who can combine QMS ownership, supplier quality, audit leadership, NCR/CAPA control and practical manufacturing quality improvement in a growing technical environment.
The Senior Quality Manager role
As Senior Quality Manager, you’ll take overall responsibility for quality performance, management systems, supplier quality, environmental compliance and Health & Safety governance. The role will involve working across Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Customer Service and senior management to make sure standards are clear, risks are controlled and quality performance continues to improve.
The business is also preparing for future certification and regulatory requirements, so the Senior Quality Manager will play an important part in developing processes, controls and quality roadmap activity to support future ISO
13485 readiness.
Day-to-day responsibilities of a Senior Quality Manager
Develop and lead the company’s quality strategy across all business functions
Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO
9001 requirements
Support future ISO readiness through improved process control, documentation and risk management
Lead NCR and CAPA activity, making sure issues are contained, investigated and closed properly
Drive root cause investigations and put preventative actions in place to reduce repeat issues
Improve quality controls across Goods In, Production, Final Inspection and Dispatch
Develop quality gates, release processes, traceability and critical parts controls
Lead internal audits, external certification audits and audit readiness activity
Manage audit findings through to effective closure and verified improvement
Develop supplier quality standards, supplier scorecards and supplier improvement actions
Work with Purchasing to improve incoming quality and supplier accountability
Build quality KPI dashboards covering complaints, defects, NCRs, warranty and trend data
Report quality performance, risks and improvement plans to senior management
Maintain environmental management activity, including ISO
14001 compliance and reporting
Provide oversight of Health & Safety processes, incident trends, risk controls and improvement actions
Support managers with safe systems of work, environmental controls and compliance requirements
What they’re looking for - Senior Quality Manager
Experience in a senior quality role within manufacturing, engineering or a technical environment
Strong working knowledge of ISO
9001 and quality management system ownership
Experience leading audits, audit programmes and quality system development
Proven background managing NCRs, CAPA, root cause investigations and corrective actions
Supplier quality experience, including supplier performance, defects and improvement activity
Strong understanding of manufacturing quality controls, inspection points and process discipline
Able to create, improve and embed quality procedures, standards and operational controls
Confident communicator who can challenge constructively and influence across departments
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive quality improvement
Organised, detail-focused and able to manage multiple priorities across quality, environmental and H&S…
