We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Planning Coordinator to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Poole, Dorset.
This is a varied and responsible position coordinating workflow, capacity and daily priorities within the company's Quality Assurance and Quality Control departments.
The role would particularly suit someone with previous experience in production planning, manufacturing planning, workflow coordination or production control who is highly organised and comfortable working across different departments to keep work progressing to schedule.
The RoleYou will act as the main link between Planning, Projects and the Quality teams, coordinating workloads and ensuring inspection and quality activities are prioritised in line with production requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and coordinating daily QA and QC workloads and priorities.
- Monitoring capacity and ensuring resources are aligned with production schedules.
- Representing the Quality teams at business planning meetings.
- Organising inspection activities based on production and project requirements.
- Monitoring quality-related NCRs and communicating progress to Planning and Project teams.
- Coordinating additional inspection requirements arising from customer returns, supplier issues, investigations and new product introductions.
- Arranging external specialist inspection services when required.
- Liaising closely with Production Planners, Project Managers, Quality Inspectors and other departments.
- Coordinating pre-planned customer witness inspections.
- Supporting departmental improvement projects from a planning and capacity perspective.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience within a planning-related role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- The ability to manage competing demands and changing production priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise across multiple departments.
- A calm, professional and assertive approach.
- The ability to manage your own workload and deadlines effectively.
- Experience working within a busy, multi-disciplinary manufacturing team.
- Previous experience within Quality Assurance or Quality Control would be advantageous but is not essential.
