Day shifts only – up to 9 hour a day between 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays

Mitie offers a Retail Security Officer position at our B&Q store, providing full training and a comprehensive induction. This relief role covers sick leave and annual leave for the bank.

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor
• Safely detain offenders following H&S training
• Utilise store security systems, including CCTV and EAS gates
• Collaborate with covert security operatives
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
• Complete accurate incident reports and company documentation
• Report crime incidents using a company-provided tablet
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets
• Provide security updates during store briefings
• Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all

• Door Supervision or Security Guarding License
• Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self‑employment, or education

• Previous experience in a retail security role
