About This Role:

World Distribution Services, a World Group company, is currently looking for a supportive person to join our family as General Manager for our growing warehouse in Savannah!

The General Manager is the leader of the operations and customer service teams, providing direction, guidance, corrective action, and support to each of the members of the team, with support of the managers and supervisors of the facility or market. The General Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse and has a fiduciary duty to the company to ensure client retention, financial health, staff development and budgetary goals are met by the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure safe, clean, and efficient warehouse operations
• Ensure quality management system procedures are implemented and followed throughout the
  facility
• Oversight and management of both operations and administrative/customer service functions
• Monitor and ensure financial goals are met, providing updates and progress regularly to executive
  team
• Assist in rate negotiations by supplying pertinent data and customer requirements to
  management, in addition to overseeing rate filings for local clients
• Work in conjunction with sales team to vet potential business opportunities
• Interview, hire, terminate, execute corrective action, and participate in regular staff conversations
• Conduct annual reviews for exempt/supervisor employees and others if needed
• Recommend and implement salary changes for staff
• Full P&L responsibility
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• 7+ years experience working in a 3rd party logistics warehouse required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5+ years management experience
• A strong business acumen and experience managing against a budget
• Proven problem solving and analysis skills
• Previous leadership experience with oversight of multiple managers and supervisors
• Team building skills
• Project management experience
• Extremely strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to think strategically and make effective decisions
• Ability to work with a wide range of employees, suppliers, and customers
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines
• Ability to travel up to 25%
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime
  (which may include weekends)
