AboutThe Role
As a part‑time CNC Machinist, you’ll join our team of experienced machinists and embark on a rewarding journey to becoming a skilled professional. You'll learn alongside a qualified journeyman machinist, gaining hands‑on experience with various machining techniques, blueprint reading, and operating sophisticated machinery.
What You’ll Do- Assist experienced machinists in setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, machining instructions, and other technical specifications.
- Perform basic machining tasks under close supervision, ensuring parts meet required dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
- Assist with material handling, tool setup, and other tasks as directed.
- Participate in classroom training to learn the theory behind machining processes, mathematics, and measurement.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Enrolled in a technical or trade school program (high school or technical college) with a completion date of May 2026 or beyond.
- Strong interest in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance or other industrial trades.
- Excellent math skills, particularly in geometry and basic algebra.
- Manual dexterity and good hand‑eye coordination.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a team and individual environment.
- This is a part‑time, temporary role (up to 1 year).
- No company benefits are provided during the apprenticeship.
