As a Registered Nurse for the Procedural Pre/Post Unit (EPU), you will be responsible for the prep and recovery of patients coming to have procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Angiography/IR suite, or the Hybrid OR. In addition, EPU RNs are expected to participate in procedures and diagnostic testing requiring the administration of sedation and monitoring of patients during conscious sedation.
Procedures and diagnostic testing performed in the EPU include cardioversions, TEEs, and loop recorder insertions. You will provide post-anesthesia care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia period and transition the patient to Phase II recovery. You will be responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan and achieving the goals of the EPU department.
