The Security Account Manager, under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources, is responsible for managing the security program and monitoring security staff for the entire library system. Promotes the security of library premises, property, customers, and staff by maintaining a high level of visibility and vigilance. Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and maintain high productivity and high staff morale within the security department.
As Security Manager, you must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills, as a large portion of this job will involve interacting with staff and the general public.

- Deals effectively and appropriately with disorderly patrons whenever necessary, effectively correcting them, removing them, preventing harm to property or persons, and notifying law enforcement as appropriate.
- Interprets, communicates, and enforces library policies, procedures, and code of conduct with library patrons; communicates information related to security to library staff.
- Write Incident Reports and prepare LOPL Trespass notices.
- Coordinate security needs for entire library system: monitor schedules and rotations for adequate coverage; assists with the recruitment and selection of safety coordinators.
- Plans and implements security patrols of the Main Library and branches with assigned security personnel including patrols of the exterior of the property.
- Maintain a high level of visibility and vigilance for security purposes and positive public relations.
- Coordinates all matters involving library-controlled parking, and enforce towing of unauthorized vehicles.
- Perform security evaluations and inspections for 16 library locations.
- Coordinates with outside authorities on investigations, court appearances, and prosecutions.
- Works with Associate Directors and Branch Managers to help achieve the vision, mission, and goals of Live Oak Public Libraries.
- Coordinates security needs for all special events involving the library and its facilities.
- Assessment of Live Oak Public Libraries Security needs for reorganization of library security team.
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of systemwide security staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Three (3) years of leadership experience related to law enforcement or security work which included conducting training related to security procedures and protocols; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
- Law enforcement training and certification preferred.
- Post-secondary training in security management is preferred.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include some evenings and weekends.
- Regular attendance at work on-site is essential to maintain the necessary teamwork, personal interaction, and supervision that the position requires.

- Knowledge of the operation of public library services and facilities.
- Knowledge of security methods and procedures, including physical, technical, administrative, and legal aspects of security.
- Working knowledge of any required computer programs and security technology.
- Skill to work with the technical equipment involved with the job.
- Ability to analyze and respond to incident reports and communicate in a timely manner to supervisor.
- Ability to select, train, supervise and manage security team.
- Ability to identify potential issues or conflicts, modify processes and resolve conflict as the need arises.

Work is typically performed with the employee sitting at a desk, standing for extending periods, or bending/stooping. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds routinely, climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, extended walking within and outside branch locations, reach, bend, and stoop.
