. Our Store Team Members are an essential part of customer service in any Academy store. They are responsible for ensuring fast, friendly customer service and helping customers navigate the variety of choices Academy offers, while contributing to customer satisfaction, store profitability, and Academy’s mission.

• Provide fast, friendly customer service and assist customers with selections.
• Support store operations in alignment with the company mission and goals.
• Assist in maintaining store standards and product presentation as needed.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED preferred. Associates or Bachelor's in Criminal Justice preferred (Asset Protection Team Member Only).
• Experience:
  
  Previous related work experience preferred. Operating POS equipment and basic cashier duties preferred (Cashier Only).
• Outdoor enthusiasts with relevant hobbies/skills preferred for Outdoor Enthusiast positions (e.g., fishing, hunting, camping).
• Certifications:
  
  CPR and First Responder certification is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member Only). Loss prevention or criminal justice background is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member Only).

• Excellent customer service orientation and ability to build rapport with customers and community.
• Effective problem solving and communication with customers and team members.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and follow safety rules, operation instructions, and procedure manuals; basic math proficiency.
• Familiarity with POS equipment and basic clerical tasks (Cashier Only).
• Strong knowledge or interest in outdoors activities (Outdoor Enthusiast Only).
• Proficiency with inventory software and order processing systems (Cashier Only).
• Strong situational awareness and emergency response awareness.

• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
• Normal hearing and vision to perform job duties; ability to walk, reach, talk; occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull.
• Lift up to 60 pounds occasionally; frequently handle and use repetitive motions.
• Specific vision abilities: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
